Giotto Jazz Festival 2025: the magic of jazz in the heart of Mugello

The magic of jazz returns from March 19 to 23 2025, for the 26th edition of the Giotto Jazz Festival, taking place in Borgo San Lorenzo and Vicchio.

The Giotto Jazz Festival has a long and well-established tradition in the Italian music scene and has become an unmissable event for jazz enthusiasts.

Each year, the festival brings world-renowned artists as well as emerging talents to the heart of Mugello, creating a unique atmosphere where music perfectly blends with the beauty of the Tuscan landscape.

Among the many internationally recognised artists that the Giotto Jazz Festival has featured over the years are Paolo Fresu, Enrico Rava, Chick Corea, John Scofield, Cassandra Wilson, and Benny Golson.

Organized by the Jazz Club of Vicchio in collaboration with Music Pool, the festival offers a rich and diverse program.

This year, the Giotto Jazz Festival will focus on female artists: the festival will open on March 19 at the Teatro Giotto in Borgo San Lorenzo with the young Frida Bollani Magoni, while Francesca Tandoi will close the festival on March 23 with a tribute to Franco Califano.

The festival will also feature other great names from the international jazz scene, such as Tony Levin with Stick Men, Bill Evans & The Vansband Allstars, and Mark Lettieri Group, ready to deliver unforgettable performances.

During the festival, the loggia of Piazza della Vittoria in Vicchio will host vintage markets, food trucks, DJ sets, and a series of free concerts, offering the audience a complete musical and cultural experience.

The festival kicks off on March 20 with Infūzed, a group that blends jazz and electronic music, bringing modern and experimental sounds. On March 21, Out to Jazz will reinterpret jazz standards in a contemporary style. On March 22, the No Time Jazz Band will take to the stage, reviving the charm of swing and jazz tradition. Finally, on March 23, Talking Ties will close this lineup of free concerts with a refined mix of jazz and contemporary blues.

Here is the detail of what awaits you at these five unmissable dates:



• Wednesday, March 19, 2025: Opening night at Teatro Giotto in Borgo San Lorenzo at 9:30 PM with Frida Bollani Magoni and her tour "Semplicemente Frida".
• Thursday, March 20, 2025: In Vicchio, under the loggia of Piazza della Vittoria, free concerts by Infūzed at 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM. At 9:30 PM, Teatro Giotto will host Stick Men with Tony Levin.
• Friday, March 21, 2025: Again under the loggia of Piazza della Vittoria, performances by Out to Jazz at 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM. At 9:30 PM, Teatro Giotto will feature a concert by Bill Evans & The Vansband Allstars, followed at 11:00 PM by the "House Party" DJ set by P&P.
• Saturday, March 22, 2025: Under the loggia of Piazza della Vittoria, the No Time Jazz Band will perform at 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM. At 9:30 PM, Teatro Giotto will present a performance by Mark Lettieri Group, followed at 11:00 PM by a DJ set by Yorghe.
• Sunday, March 23, 2025: The festival’s grand finale with Talking Ties performing under the loggia of Piazza della Vittoria at 12:00 PM and 4:30 PM. At 9:30 PM, at Teatro Giotto in Vicchio, Francesca Tandoi will present "The Music and Words of Franco Califano".
